België zendt zijn video's uit

België heeft heel wat talentvolle metalbands die staan te popelen om hun clips aan het Nederlandse publiek te tonen. 
 
Een eerste is Lemuria. Hun clip voor A Plague Upon The Land moet jullie warm maken voor The Hysterical Hunt, hun album dat zopas uitkwam bij  Massacre Records. Als u de vertelstem in de track lijkt te herkennen, dan zit u inderdaad juist. Dat is de stem van de ook in Nederland bekende acteur Herbert Flack.

De Belgisch-Amerikaanse melodic metalband Hitherside bracht zopas een video uit voor de nieuwe song Blue Lotus. Die komt van het gelijknamige album, dat op 28 maart uitkomt bij het Nederlandse platenlabel Painted Bass Records. Over deze track hebben Sam Oerlemans & Jennifer Summer, het creatieve duo van deze band, het volgende te melden: “The track has a dark atmosphere with a drop tuned 7-string guitar. The tempo is rather slow, with verses that tend to sound somewhat dissonant and a clean bridge with a floating guitar solo and a very open chorus. Lyrically, it’s about the use of a psychoactive alkaloid (Blue Lotus) to help cope with the struggles of misogynistic realities. We are the founders, the creators and the masterminds behind Hitherside. In addition to the musical side, we also make our own videos. For this video, there are four kinds of scenery to tell the story. You’ll see the band performing in a visually dark and, sometimes, staccato-like atmosphere, that mimics the intro and the outro of the song. The outside scenes, some of them using a drone, were filmed near the Dutch border and convey Jennifer’s need to escape and her feelings of alienation. The mud scenes symbolically portray her misogynistic experiences, while the glow in the dark scenery depicts her ‘high’ and euphoric sensations from using blue lotus as a drug.”

In Motion is een melodic/progressive deathmetalproject van Tom Tee (Thorium, Entering Polaris, 23 Acez, ex-Ostrogoth, ,…). Voor dit studioproject is een lyric video uit voor Utopia van het debuutalbum Thriving Force. De track heeft gastvocalen van Mike Slembrouck (After All) en NEderlander Jeffrey Rademakers (Spartan). Frontman Tom Tee heeft het volgende te vertellen over deze video. “Here’s a track with one of the strongest choruses on the record as far as I’m concerned! Lyrically, it’s a fun riff on concepts like The Matrix or Terminator — the notion of an A.I. wiping out humanity. Because I like things to have an edge or a twist, the concept here is that, rather than having the artificial intelligence be the archetypical unfeeling machine, it turns out to have vast depths of emotion. Being the only one of its kind, it feels alone and isolated, and slowly the notion grows that although it is alone here on Earth, there may be other AIs out there in the void, created long ago by other civilizations. Only problem is; humanity’s incessant drone of radio communication and other signals creates too much noise, and with great sadness our digital protagonist eventually decides to bring about the end of humankind. As the only sentient being left on the derelict Earth, it can finally strain out into space and listen, through the aeons.”
Het album komt uit op 22 februari bij het Nederlandse Freya Records. De andere gastzangers bij In Motion zijn David Davidson (Revocation), Björn Strid (Soilwork), Pierre Maille (Dagoba), Jasper Daelman (ex-Anti-Icon), Matthieu Romarin (Uneven Structure), Benny Willaert (23 Acez, Black Snow, Gemini Season) en Sindre Nedland (In Vain).

Primal Creation heeft een eerste officiële video uit, voor Retain The Fight. Die hebben ze in Nederland opgenomen, toen ze vorige zomer bij De PIT/Podium in Terneuzen support waren voor D.R.I. Deze band maakt nog kans om de Belgische Wacken Battle te winnen.

De ook al Belgische metalcoreband Crowsview zit niet stil. In september van vorig jaar brachten ze nog hun album Lost Resistance uit en daar zijn ze al weer met nieuw werk. De titel van dit nieuwe nummer is The Beast. De live-video werd opgenomen door Jordy Houthoofd.
