Chelsea Grin heeft nieuwe single met nieuwe zanger

Bijna vier jaar geleden kwam Chelsea Grin met het derde album Ashes To Ashes op de markt. Daarop liet de band een uiterst stevig geluid horen dat ze zelf omschrijven als deathcore extreme metal. Toentertijd was Alex Koehler nog de voorman en maakte de band gebruik van drie gitaristen. Ondertussen heeft Chelsea Grin afscheid moeten nemen van gitarist Jacob Harmond die zijn aandacht heeft gericht op zijn gezin en andere persoonlijke uitdagingen en is de band verder gegaan met twee gitaristen in de gelederen.
“Furthermore, late last year Jacob Harmond parted ways with the band; you may have noticed via social media or on our most recent Never Say Die tour. Jacob recently had his second of two children, and has found his passion redirected toward family and personal goals. Again, his parting was carried out entirely amicably and with absolutely no hard feelings. We will forever support Jacob and his family, and will always remain close friends. 
Over het vertrek van Alex Koehler geeft de band het volgende:
“Alex Koehler has opted to part ways with the band following his recent time spent in rehab and the life changes he’s made in newly found sobriety. We are all at a mutual understanding that the nomadic and trying nature of touring is much too volatile of an environment for a recovering alcoholic. He has made huge strides forward in shaping a new and positive lifestyle, and we will always do our part to support our friend and brother. We are still very close, of course, and it goes without saying that we wish him all the strength and willpower needed to continue his inspiring progress. We ask that all of you respectfully do the same for Alex. 
Aan de reacties op het internet te zien van vele fans, twijfelen zij of Alex de band heeft verlaten of dat dat band Alex aan de kant heeft gezet ten gunste van de nieuwe zanger Tom Barber. Waar de waarheid ook mag liggen (vaak ergens in het midden), het neemt niet weg dat Chelsea Grin deze zomer het nieuwe album Eternal Nightmare via Rise Records uit zal brengen. Van dit album is de eerste single nu beschikbaar. Oordeel zelf of Tom Barber de juiste vervanger van Alex Koehler is of dat Chelsea Grin gewoon een nieuw tijdperk heeft betreden met Tom.

Chelsea Grin have dropped their new single “Dead Rose” from their upcoming album ‘Eternal Nightmare‘, out this summer via Rise Records. The album is the first to feature new singer Tom Barber.
