Een van de meest innovatieve bands in de moderne symfonische metal is wel Kamelot. De band brengt op 17 maart het nieuwe album The Awakening uit via Napalm Records. Het eerste album in vijf jaar. Met One More Flag In The Ground geeft de band de liefhebbers de eerste single van het album.

Vanaf 1999 weet Kamelot (moeiteloos) de toppen van de charts te halen met hun albums in binnen- en buitenland. De aanstekelijke en aantrekkelijke melodieën doen het goed in een mix van gothic-, melodic- en progressieve powermetal.
Voor de Awakening is Kamelot beïnvloed door thema’s als kracht, het overwinnen van persoonlijke strijd, ontwikkeling en het overweldigende besef dat we maar een zeer korte tijd leven en daarin onszelf zoveel mogelijk moeten ontwikkelen. Daarbij moet je niet schromen om de duisternis lief te hebben, want zonder duisternis zou er namelijk ook geen licht zijn.
