Cypecore
Tot op de dag van vandaag snap ik niet dat een band als Cypecore niet op alle festivalposters staat. De band levert steevast goede (industriële) rock af en zijn daarbij leuk om te zien. Ik hoop van harte dat de nieuwe single Neoteric Gods daar verandering in gaat brengen. Zet je apocalyptische antenne uit en dompel je onder in de warme rock/metal van Cypecore
Pridian
Pridian is een band uit Tartu, Estland en speelt modern metal sinds hun oprichting in 2018. Zelf omschrijven ze hun muziek als ‘energetic and cinematic’. In juni 2021 bracht de band het debuutalbum The Rotten Unknown uit (onder de naam ÆØNS). Afgelopen was het tijd voor de nieuwe EP Cybergnosis. De video voor de single Hive Mind is nu beschikbaar en de band zegt erover:

Lion Shepherd
Lion Shepherd speelt (licht) progressieve rock die doorspekt is met folkloristische elementen. De band is zeker al langer bekend op Rockportaal, maar na het laatste album III uit 2019 is het toch ernstig stil geweest. Jammer, want de band weet geregeld een rake snaar te treffen met hun muziek. Een week geleden stond de nieuwe single Hero’s Curse ineens in mijn playlist. En wederom weet de band te overtuigen met het ingetogen progressieve folkrockgeluid.
Vicious Rain
Ze bestaan pas een jaar maar zetten meteen een goed geluid neer. Vicious Rain uit Baden, Zwitersland heeft de nodige ervaring en de vijf leden besloten om hun gezamenlijke vaardigheden te bundelen. De derde single Crown Of Thorns kun je nu beluisteren.
