Burn werd geschreven tijdens een nacht die net even te lang duurde, in een kamer waar de muren harder echoden dan de woorden zelf. De compositie gaat over die momenten waar de stilte te snijden is en als een donkere deken over je heen hangt en de omgeving daarmee afsnijdt. Het gaat over situaties waarin alles uit je handen lijkt te glippen terwijl je je angstvallig probeert vast te houden aan iedere strohalm die voorhanden is.
Dit thema is prachtig omwikkeld in een melancholisch geluid dat je zou kunnen herkennen bij een band als Radiohead. Luister ernaar, omarm het en laat het je kracht geven wanneer je zelf in een situatie terecht komt waarin de stilte je lijkt te overstemmen.
15 april komt Eluveitie met het nieuwe album Ànv. Van dit album heeft de band rond Chrigel Glanzmann de single Awen uitgebracht.
Chrigel Glanzmann : “AWEN is musically perhaps one of the album’s catchiest songs… sticking our necks out on pretty modern metal music, at the same time with a chorus coming in with that very traditional, mystically melancholic, solemn kind of ‘grandeur’, much like older Eluveitie songs such as OF FIRE, WIND & WISDOM, SLANIA’S SONG or ALESIA. Lyrically it time-travels some fairly bold lines off that several thousand years old mythological text ANV is based on, into the modern age and makes them speak directly to us and our modern civilizations!
