Mooie video's voor augustus

Terwijl Wacken World Wide de nodige aandacht vraagt deze week, verschijnen er toch nog genoeg leuke video’s die er wel even tussendoor kunnen of die je kunt bewaren voor later.
Kill The Lights
Met het debuutalbum The Sinner laat Kill The Lights van zich horen. De band waarin voormalige leden van Bullet For My Valentine en Throw The Fight zitten brengen het album op 21 augustus uit via Fearlesw Records. Om het album alvast een beetje warm te maken bij de luisteraars, hebben ze bij Throught The Night een video geplaatst.
“The song very personally hits home for me” deelt zanger James Clark. “I have struggled for the longest time with anxiety and depression and ‘Through the Night’ is a snapshot of what is going through the mind of someone struggling with these types of mental health issues. The song takes you on a roller coaster ride and captures the ups and downs of someone carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders, going from happy and energetic one minute to being paralyzed by fear and worry the next.”
“Luckily, I found just enough strength to speak up and get some help. I will be the first person to admit I still find it hard to share feelings and talk about my problems. Sharing my struggles through my lyrics is a form of rehab for me — it allows me to be honest and open while still being able to hide behind the music. I hope that this song truly connects with listeners who feel trapped and alone with these types of feelings and that it empowers them to reach out and get the help they might need.”

Silius
Fans van Pantera, Lamb Of God of Testament zouden de moeite zeker moeten nemen om de single Abominate van Silius te beluisteren. De compositie komt van het tweede album Worship To Extinction dat op 28 augustus het licht zal zien via ROAR!, Rock Of Angels Records.
De band zegt zelf over Abominate: “Abominate” is a statement against the system and corruption! The hypocrisy of religion and the false prayers that have become so artificial. Make up your own mind; believe in yourself and in what you are doing! No one can tell you how to live your life!”

The Disaster Area
November 2018 kwam de metalcoreband The Disaster Area met het uitstekende album Alpha//Omega. De band tourde succesvol met Eskimo Callboy en To The Rats And The Wolves door Europa en zijn nu wel weer klaar voor het nieuwe werk in de vorm van de nieuwe single Bruised & Broken. Een single die gemakkelijk in het gehoor ligt door de mix van metalcore en alternatieve rock met electronische elementen.

To Kill Achilles
Om de deal met Arising Empire wat meer gewicht mee te geven, heeft To Kill Achilles uit Dundee, Schotland de single Venom opnieuw uitgebracht als voorbode voor het nieuwe album.

Manticora
Manticora opereert vanuit Denemarken en speelt progressieve thrash. Binnenkort verschijnt het tweede album To Live To Kill To Live in een rij dat voortborduurt op het eerste To Kill To Live To Kill. Beide albums zijn gebaseerd op de roman van zanger Lars F. Larsen. Van de single The Farmer’s Tale pt 3 – Eaten By The Beasts is een video verschenen.
“The video for the song “Eaten By The Beasts” deals with the brutal murder of a young criminal, who has raped the daughter of a farmer. The farmer hires a hitman to get rid of the rapist, and the rapist is eaten alive by a number of huge, hungry pigs, owned by the farmer. It’s all karma, and the video is based on the concept.”
Manticora is echter geen onbekende en heeft reeds acht albums op zijn naam staan sinds 1999.

Mr. Kill
De EP The Day Of Reckoning van Mr Kill’s is uit. De Australische band speelt melodische deathmetal en hebben voor de compositie Hatred een video neergezet.
“A headbanger recounting all the hatred and craziness in the world.” volgens Justin Ks.

Cytotoxin
Sinds de ramp in Chernobyl in 1986 zijn sommige dingen nooit meer goed gekomen. Geïnspireerd door deze catastrofe en de gevolgen ervan begon Cytotoxin met het spelen van een stevige pot deathmetal in 2010.
Het heeft ondertussen geresulteerd in drie albums. Het nieuwe album Nuklearth staat klaar om uitgebracht te worden en je kunt met Dominus alvast een voorproefje krijgen. Een mondmasker is niet meer afdoende bij de brute sound van Cytotoxin.
