Nieuwe singles van onder meer Elyne, Kreator, Arch Enemy en Lesoir

Elyne
Twee maanden na de fantastische single Samsara komt Elyne met nieuw werk in de vorm van de single Bulletproof. Maandag 7 februari komt er een video beschikbaar, maar de single is al te beluisteren op de diverse platforms. Bulletproof is een compositie die prachtig past in hetgeen je van Elyne mag verwachten. Stevige metalcore met melodieuze tussenstukken, vette riffs, diepe grunts en een lekkere breakdown.

Kreator
De Duitse thrashmetalformatie Kreator kondigt met trots het vijftiende album Hate Über Alles aan. Het album zal op 3 juni, net voor het festivalseizoen, uitgebracht worden en is het vervolg op God Of Violence dat ondertussen alweer vijf jaar oud is. De band heeft in de 37 jaar van het bestaan al het nodige bereikt en is niet meer weg te denken van de Europese  podia. De single Hate Über Alles is van een video voorzien.
Mille Petrozza : “Hate Über Alles reflects the time we’re living in. Everything is really loud and aggressive. The way we communicate has changed, thanks to social media. It causes a lot of imbalance. The world is in a state of disrepair. Life is not harmonic right now, it’s disharmonic… that’s where I was going with the title.”

Arch Enemy
Op 29 juli komt Arch Enemy met het elfde album Deceivers op de markt. Het wordt uitgebracht doro Century Media Records en bevat elf nieuwe composities waarin catchy melodieën en onvervalste metal hand in hand gaan. Na de singles Deceiver, Deceiver en House Of Mirrors heeft de band nu bij de single Handshake With Hell een video geplaatst.
Michael Amott (Gitars) : “Having just celebrated our 25th anniversary as a group and now releasing our 11th studio album, one could easily assume that we would be cruising along and going through the motions at this point. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth when it comes to Arch Enemy and our new album, ‘Deceivers’. It is without a doubt always a challenge to raise the bar each time in both the songwriting and production side of things, and it can feel a bit daunting before we get into it. But once we do get started and fully immerse ourselves in the creative process, it’s really like there is nothing else in the world and we are very focused. And believe it or not, for the most part, we have a ton of fun making this music! Creating ‘Deceivers’ was no different, once again we shut out the outside world and went deep into the artistic zone. I believe we pulled out some really interesting musical and lyrical themes this time, a few things might even raise an eyebrow or two – while retaining all the signature elements of the band. In the end, it’s Arch Enemy at full speed and power!”

Lesoir
Art rockband Lesoir komt op 10 februari met een nieuw album. Om je alvast warm te maken heeft de band een livevideo bij de compositie met de naam Babel online gezet. Het is een liveregistratie van het optreden van afgelopen zomer. Babel geeft de ervaringen van het rampjaar 2020 weer en er is dan ook bewust gekozen voor deze metafoor.

Monuments
Met de single Cardinal Red zet de progressieve metalband Monument de wijzer richting het vierde album In Statis dat op 15 april uitkomt via Century Media Records.

The Devil Wears Prada
The Devil Wears Prada komt met de nieuwe single Watchtower op de proppen. De single belichaamt alles wat het blad Revolver over de band wist te vertellen: “The Devil Wears Prada have proven time and time again that it’s possible to never stop sonically experimenting… and never lose their own crushing identity”.
“The idea of this song is about a person being intentionally difficult even though happiness wants to find him/her”, zegt zanger Mike Hranica. “In handling my own mental health struggles, I’ve found that I oftentimes never choose contentment on a fundamental basis: almost like I’ve skipped Step One. The narrator of ‘Watchtower’ is afraid to approach Step One and instead flees to perceive his/her life as a sort of passive overlooker instead”.

Dying Light
Dying Light heeft kortgeleden het album Far From Life uitgebracht. De single The Cycle opent het album en laat je horen wat de band in zijn mars heeft.

Nord
Uit Denemarken komt het metalvijftal NORÐ die binnenkort via Inverse Records het debuutalbum uit zal brengen. Met de tweede single Seasons Erased laten ze zien wat ze in huis hebben.
NORÐ: “The song is based on an uptempo thrashy riff combined with a halftime melodic chorus. The vocals are very versatile ranging from cleans to deep growl emphasizing the guitar riffs perfectly. The lyrics discuss the experience of the natural seasons becoming less distinctive as the winters become warmer and the weather more unpredictable and extreme because of human consumption.”

Madman’s Lullaby
Madman’s Lullaby komt uit San Jose, Ca en is sinds 2007 actief. De band is veelal omschreven als een mix van Lynch Mob, Badlands en Black Label Society. ML heeft in Europa al op diverse festivals gespeeld naast Michael Schenker, Lita Ford, LA Guns, Heat, en WASP. Met de single Love Don’t Come Easy presenteert de band zich met een heuse ballad.

Wolf
Het Zweedse Wolf keert terug met het nieuwe album Shadowland op 1 april, zoals dat vorige week door Century Media Records werd vermeld. Het is de opvolger van Feeding The Machine uit 2020. Van het album komt de nieuwe single Dust.
