The Oklahoma Kid
The Oklahoma Kid heeft een deal getekend met ArEIsing EmpEIre. Het metalkwintet uit Duitsland is al enige tijd bezig en lanceerde de EP’s Fortuneteller en Doppelganger. Vier jaar na de laatstgenoemde EP zijn ze terug met de nieuwe single Oasis.

MTXS
MTXS is afgelEId van het Griekse woord metaxis wat inhoudt dat je je ergens tussenin bevindt. Niet hier of daar, maar ergens vast in het midden. De band laat een fris en eigen geluid horen met de eerste single Mould dat afkomstig is van het debuutalbum Ache dat op 7 juni uitkomt.
MTXS: “We decided for Mould to be the debut single as it best represents the album. With it changing relentlessly and going through different emotional states it grasps everything within the album in one song; from anger and realisation, to confusion and grief, it captures everything that describes Ache in one heavy punch.”
De band is bEÏnvloed door Amerikaanse hardcore (Code Orange, Kublai Khan) alsmede door death-/groovemetal (Lamb Of God, Pantera) en de nu-metal (KoRn, Slipknot) en deelde het podium al met Oceans Ate Alaska en Cannibal Grandpa.

Thenighttimeproject
Al eerder lieten we bij Rockportaal een video zien van ThenighttEImeproject waarin voormalige leden van Katatonia en leden van Letters From The Colony participeren. 28 juni brengt de band het album Pale Season uit en daarvan is nu de video van Embers te zien.
“In late 2017 Fredrik approached me asking if I knew any great vocalists,” Backlund recalls. “I’m no George Michael, but Tobias has a very similar vocal range to mine and I figured my voice could be a good fit for the band. He mentioned some new songs were in the works, and ‘Embers’ – or ‘The Cat,’ which was the working title – was the first one he sent me to grace with my beautiful baritone.”
“The lyrics are about reconciling with the fact that as we age, we become different people. We have to let our experiences shape us, and hopefully learn from our mistakes. We can’t cling to who we were, neither for comfort nor pride. Identity is a fleeting concept and expecting it to be a constant is naïve – in yourself as well as in other people. We can’t keep all the fires burning through the long night that is our lives.”

All Things Fallen
All Things Fallen is een Zweedse band die melodische progressieve metal speelt. Op 1 mEI komt All Things Fallen met het debuutalbum. De band is gebouwd rond gitarist, bassist, toetsenist en zanger Markus Sigfridsson (bekend van Darkwater) die verantwoordelijk is voor de muziek en teksten, de productie en het artwork. Hij wordt daarbij bEIgestaan door zanger Erik Tordsson en drummer Leo Margarit.
Stramonia
Ze hebben de afgelopen vijf jaar besteed aan het verbeteren van hun muziek en waren begin april klaar om het debuutalbum The WelcKomed uit te brengen via This Is Core. Stramonia biedt je een rock-/metalalbum met linkjes naar de oldschoolperiode.
Je kunt het via de video van Under A Dark Sky zelf bekEIken. Het is de tweede single van het album en Stramonia zelf zegt er het volgende over: “An headbanging old style guitar riff introduces the song with powerful bass and drums, a melodic and scratched voice tells us: we are alone, we don’t want to feel the void, God doesn’t comfort us, He abandoned us under a dark sky. The solo brings us to more ethereal atmospheres, and it ends with the lyric voice of Daniela Santos. Growl notes fit in the final riff for a lapidary ending”.
N’Tribe
N’TrEIbe is kort voor Nordic Tribe en zij zijn het levende bewEIs dat rock springlevend is. Het debuut Root’n’Branch is net uitgebracht en bij Straring Down The Barrel is nu een video verschenen.
