Corporain
Corporain bestaat reeds twaalf jaar en is ontstaan door een stel twintigers die graag hun hoop, dromen en angsten wilden vertalen in muziek. Gedreven door een sterke heavymetalvibe gecombineerd met wat rock en popelementen heeft de band een demo, een EP en het album Purge onder eigen beheer uitgebracht.

Vreid
De Noorse Black ‘n Roll brigade Vreid trakteert je hier op de eerste single van het nieuwe album Wild North West, een conceptalbum dat gemaakt is met een complete film in het achterhoofd. In acht hoofdstukken neemt Vreid je mee op een avontuur in de bergen, naar een donkere plaats waar de grens tussen realiteit en fantasie wegvalt en waar de dood slechts één stap achter je is. Het album is vanaf 30 april te verkrijgen via Season Of Mist.
Bassist Jarle Hváll Kvåle: “After being locked up in our own twisted little world for a long time, I am over the moon to finally be able to share the first chapter from our new album/movie with you all.  This is the start of a journey that I don’t know where will lead us, but hey, isn’t that the point?  Life is an everlasting march forward, so let’s see where it takes us. Korpse
Extreme deathmetal uit Nederland vind je bij Korpse die nu de video bij Molestation Condonation online heeft gezet. Een single van het derde album Insufferable Violence dat op 26 februari uitkomt via Unique Leader Records.
Korpse: “We proudly present to you the third song taken from our upcoming album Insufferable Violence. It’s titled ‘Molestation Condonation’ and it’s about yet another attempt by the Catholic Church to cover up numerous sex abuse cases by their priests with pre teen boys and girls. We did our absolute best to capture our anger on this topic in the official music video accompanying the track. Let’s make sure this doesn’t go unheard!”

Het commentaar van de band over de video: “It was about time to shake the dust off our shoulders, after a long period of stay at home due to the pandemic. We are happy to present you our first live performance after the release of Impulse to Soar. Dangerous Times For The Dead
Nog meer Nederlandse muziek vind je met Dangerous For The Dead die meer in het straatje van de heavymetal verblijven. Rechtstreeks getransporteerd uit de jaren 80 spelen ze de klassieke hardrock met een fris elan.
“Their latest track “Queen of the Night” (released 14th of February 2021) is about the misfits and misunderstood; those who dare to be different (or just are different). Those who don’t fit in, or don’t want to. On the cover of the single you see Malin Kvitblik from Norway. Malin has autism and was bullied for being different. But “see what she’s done, look at her now”; 45.000(!) followers on Instagram as a tattoo model.”

Aetherian
De melodic death metallers van Aetherian hebben Rotting Christzanger Sakis Tolis zover gekregen om op Primordial Woods een deuntje mee te ‘zingen’.
De band zegt zelf over de nieuwe compositie: “These past few years our planet is experiencing a rapid change of the global climate. The extent of fires in Australia, the Amazon rainforest and the Siberian boreal forest, shows us that the worst-case scenario is right on our doorstep. The destruction of wildlife’s natural habitat diminishes biodiversity and is disrupting the balance of every ecosystem. The damage we now cause might as well be irreversible. “Primordial Woods” is a song about our world’s forests. Preserving their magic and passing it over to the next generations is our duty. Let’s not make the same mistakes as those before us did.”

Geometry Of Chaos
Geometry Of Chaos is een nieuw project van gitarist/bassist Fabio La Manna en drummer Davide Cardella. Ze hebben net het album Soldiers Of The New World Order uit en van dit album is hier de single Spiral Staircase te zien en te horen.

Silent Winter
Silent Winter maakt muziek in de stijl van Iron Maiden en heeft, een paar weken na de eerste single Gates Of Fire, een nieuwe video naar voren geschoven van het langverwachte nieuwe album Empire Of Sins.

Black And Damned
Afgelopen maand kwam het album Heavenly Creatures van Black And Damned uit via ROAR ! Rock Of Angels Records.

Immortal Guardian
Het album Psychosomatic is een heerlijk album waarover je het een en ander kunt lezen in de review op onze site. De band heeft nu een video geschoten bij Phobia.
“As the pandemic first began, one thing that we saw happening to everyone – including ourselves – was an introduction of new phobias,” says keyboardist/guitarist Gabriel Guardian. “I started becoming scared of things that I used to like or not be scared of. Even just the thought of being in a crowd has a whole new meaning and feeling to it. Is it a phobia? Will we have to learn to deal with them, or will they go away when the pandemic is over? This song touches on the topics of these new phobias.”

Richard Barbieri
Richard Barbieri is zeker geen onbekende. Hij was lid van de onovertroffen band Japan en later één van de leden van de gerespecteerde band Porcupine Tree. Na zijn album Planets + Persona is hij terug met een nieuw album Under A Spell dat niet geheel vooraf zo bedacht was. Zijn vierde album zou een vervolg moeten worden op Planets + Persona, maar het liep allemaal een beetje anders door de pandemie.
“I wrote and recorded it in my studio at home, with all this strangeness going on outside,” zegt Barbieri over Under A Spell. “It became something completely different: this weird, self-contained dream-state album.”
