Witherfall komt uit Los Angeles en is in 2013 opgericht door Joseph Michael en Jake Dreyer die drummer Adam Sagan en bassist Anthony Crawford aan de band wisten toe te voegen. Sindsdien heeft de band drie albums uitgebracht. Nocturnes and Requiems (2017), A Prelude to Sorrow (2018), and Curse of Autumn (2021) and an ep Vintage (2019). Op het laatste album kon je Marco Minnemann achter de drumkit vinden. Op het nieuwe en vierde album zul je Marco alleen vinden op het album. Live zul je Chris Tsaganeas en Gerry Hirschfield zien als de nieuwe permanente leden van de band.
Het nieuwste werk van Witherfall heet Insidious en is het eerste stuk muziek sinds Curse Of Autumn. Het betekent een nieuw fris hoofdstuk voor de band en je kunt meteen horen wat je mag verwachten op het nieuwe album dat begin 2024 uit zal komen.
“After a crazy writing and recording spree that had us crisscrossing the USA and working in five different states. We present to you perhaps the most involved Witherfall production to date”, says the band. “‘Insidious’ is the first single from our 4th full length album. The song was birthed at four in the morning under a foggy full moon in a stream of consciousness with the central theme and musical landscape written/improvised in a single take. The contrasting consonance and dissonance in the composition takes listeners on a decent into madness. The song was recorded with all analog instruments and was Co-Produced by Zeuss. The video produced by both Bradley Cooper and Cig Neutron represents the pervasive malaise and general sense of division in our current culture.
